Tittabawassee

The Tittabawassee River generally flows southward originating itself in Roscommon County. North of Dow Chemical Corporation in Midland, the river is wide enough to call itself a lake. Swimming and boating is a frequent activity in this portion of the river.  Where the river has its issues is downstream from Dow Chemical Corporation. Dioxin contamination from this plant is a serious concern. This contamination also effects the river’s estuaries in various locations below it.
